The Great Smoky Mountains National Park
This National Park is world renowned for its endless wilderness and rich history of Appalachian mountain culture. Beyond photographing nature, I’ve enjoyed exploring the seventy some historic structures, which include schools, churches, mills, barns, and cabin homes of early settlers peppered throughout the mountains. I’ve also had the privilege of exploring Elkmont, an abandoned community that was once a vacation spot for the wealthy and later acquired by the National Park Service. I’ve made three trips to the Smoky Mountains, and I’ll be back again!
