Travel and Photography in Alaska Podcast (Pilot)
Welcome to the Alaska PodShow!
My name is Scott Slone, Alaska PodShow goes all the way back to 2005, and that small homegrown weekly steadily grew to evolve into a new show and platform we called Alaska HDTV.
That global audience went from a humble 60,000 in the first year to 2.5 million viewers. I traveled Alaska featuring some of our best destinations both on and off the beaten path, from lodges, wildlife viewing, people and personalities, to hikes. Eventually, all this was picked up by TimeWarner Cable, IPTV Networks in Europe, and even featured on Airline digital players.
The fun we had was endless, enjoying side productions like “Hike of the Week” and the “Iditarod Podcast.”
Life happens, and in 2011 I stepped away for a break!
I spent the following years taking jobs with television production houses for darling networks like Travel Channel, Discovery, National Geographic, OWN, and Spiegel TV.
For the last 5-years I’ve been working with Planet Earth Adventures as an adventure guide, I offer lessons in Photography. Whether it’s an iPhone, mid-level, or professional camera I’ve enjoyed teaching photography in one of the best classrooms one could ask for – ALASKA!
WHICH BRINGS US HERE!
I’m bringing this show back with the intention to connect people with Alaska, but with a spin on Travel and Photography in America’s Last Frontier! Who doesn’t travel with a camera anymore? Whether you’re an amateur or professional photographer, misplaced Alaskan, toured with me before, or Alaska is on your bucket list, this is where you need to be!
